No, age and weight are the criteria for playing football in the SOYFA league.

2. How many age groups are there in WYFA’s football program?

Six, and they are 5&6 yr olds; 7 yr olds; 8 yr olds; 9 yr olds; 10 yr olds; and 11 yr olds.

3. Are there weight limits for football players?

SOYFA has a strict weight limit policy. Each age group has a maximum weight limit.  Click here for the 2011 weigh in information.    

4. What if my child is over the weight limit, can he still play football?

Yes!  If your child is over the weight limit for his age group, he can play up one age group, but only with a signed parental ”MOVE-UP” consent form has been completed.

5. Can I help coach? Even if I’ve never played football?

Yes, we’d love to have you join our coaching staff. However many teams may already be filled. Contact Gary Prater, WYFA Coaches Coordinator, at 513-578-4277 if you are interested. We also encourage our coaches to attend coach’s clinics and seek information on your own.

6. When does the 2011 Season Begin?

Tuesday, July 19, 2011 is the first practice date. 

7. When are practices?

Practices are held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the Wyoming Rec Ctr. However, once school starts, teams may practice on different days of the week.  It’s important to speak with your teams head coach about practice days and times.

8. When does the 2011 Season End?

The season ends the last weekend in October. If your team makes the playoffs and advances to the Super Bowl, it will run through November 13^th.

9. When and where are games Played?

All games are played on Saturday mornings.   WYFA plays its home games at the Wyoming High School’s Bob Lewis Football Stadium. Click here for 2011 Game Schedule.  

10. Equipment Needs?

Football: Football cleats; Athletic Supporter Cup. We furnish all other equipment and uniforms. Refer to the Equipment/Uniforms webpage.

      11.  Does WYFA have a Website?

12. Am I expected to volunteer at any time during the season?

YES, YES, YES! We require all parents to volunteer during the season and at home games. This helps keep our player fees affordable.
